Good day my friends,
I am Latrell Castanon, a parishioner of Holy Spirit Catholic Parish. Last Fall I was asked to attend a small prayer rally encouraging our elected leaders of Lubbock to recognize our city as a Sanctuary City for unborn children via an ordinance. Sadly, our Lubbock officials did not approve the ordinance, so a petition was circulated to allow the citizens of Lubbock to let their voices be heard and put it to a vote. Recently, I have been asked to join this grassroots movement here in Lubbock, Texas. Please pray with us leading up to this Vote and Vote “FOR” the ordinance on Saturday May 1, 2021.
Early voting starts April 19-27, 2021 at most united locations in Lubbock. Along with prayers and votes, we are hoping you will join us in one or both of two teams, making phone calls or visiting with neighbors to urgently increase public awareness of the ordinance. The importance of this opportunity for Lubbock to be a Sanctuary City for the unborn is a huge step toward being a voice for the voiceless in our city. This is so important that it’s brought many people of different churches together to encourage everyone to VOTE FOR LIFE by Voting FOR the Ordinance. The ordinance is not about mothers who are experiences medical issues that jeopardize their health or the health of their baby. It is about helping to protect healthy mothers and babies.
We are fortunate in Lubbock to have 45+ free or low cost programs in the community to assist mothers and their unborn children. Mothers can take advantage of them when they find themselves in difficult circumstances, both during and after the birth of their baby. That speaks volumes about the people of Lubbock and their commitment to protect life in our city. Not only are all of us concerned, we invest in the healthy life of mother and child.
We have speakers available to come and share information with your organization ad we have postcard reminders that you may share with your friends, as well as yard signs to help bring awareness to your neighbors and members of your organization. Let us know how we can best serve you.
